Stock is usually the most valuable thing in a shop or godown and the easiest to lose completely. It is insured under the same standard fire products as the building, with burglary cover added as a separate section.
Two features matter for a business whose inventory moves. A declaration policy lets you insure the peak value and pay premium on the actual monthly average, so you are neither underinsured in season nor overpaying out of it. A floater lets one sum insured cover stock across several locations.
Valuation follows fixed rules: raw material at landed cost, work in progress at input cost, finished goods at manufacturing cost. We set the sum insured on that basis so a claim is not disputed later.
What you get
- Fire, flood, storm and riot damage to stock on the premises
- Burglary and housebreaking cover added where needed
- Declaration policies for stock levels that change through the year
- Floater cover for stock spread across more than one location
